Waikanae Golf Club

A $10,000 grant from the Waikanae Community Board has ‘kick started’ our fund-raising drive to upgrade our very sub-standard kitchen facilities.  The Board believes the Club cannot defer this work any longer.

The decision on the Board’s application was made at the Waikanae Community Board meeting last Monday night.  This is a highly successful and unexpected result as the amount we received was almost the entire figure we asked for and represented over a third of the entire funds available for distribution.  The quote to complete the work is $21,000, so we are well on the way to achieving our target.

As the Board Chairman reminded members at our recent AGM, the project must be entirely self-funding but the Board is confident that with a concerted effort from members the balance will soon be found and the project be under way well before the end of the year.
