On the 1st of September the annual ERMA inspection was done for Hazardous Substances, and we received a Hazardous Substances Location Certificate.

The Waikanae Women’s Golf Club held their Open Tournament on Thursday 7th April
Sixty four women from 9 golf clubs in the region enjoyed playing the course, which was in excellent condition with the greens a little slower than many visitors might be used to.

Although the Club’s AGM is about 3 months away, members need to start giving some serious thought to the question of replacing some of our current Board members who are standing down this year.  They are:

The Golf Committee, after consulting with our greens’ staff, has decided to adopt a “soft sprigs only” policy for our course.  This is in line with common practice and is designed to protect our course – particularly the greens and other closely mown areas. We have been averaging 35 players each Wednesday and 20 at the weekend.  All our o going competitions are underway including Matchplay.

Silver have played three rounds and are lying in 7th equal place.
Bronze have had two rounds (round one at Otaki abandoned due to inclement weather) and lie 1st equal with Martinborough

It is with sadness that we record the passing of one of our Club’s long standing members and life member, John Eriksen. John had not enjoyed good health recently but his death will have come as a shock to his many friends. His funeral details will be published shortly.
