9 November Net comp won by Mel Fairbairn on a countback with a great score of net 62, second place on net 63 was Denys Wright.

Waikanae has just completed its 4 day mixed annual Vets’ tournament after a week of ideal weather and playing conditions.  There was a field of 86 made up of 66 men and 20 women from as far north as Mount Maunganui and Whakatane, including a good representation from local clubs. The final rounds of the men’s and women’s club championships were played today in perfect weather conditions.  A special thanks to caddies and referees for their contribution to a very successful day.   The results are:

Played 28/9/10 Bob Penny Trophy (Net Comp) won jointly by Peter Cresswell and Richard Starke with a net score of 63.
Tuesday 5/10/10 American foursomes won by Bill Bruce and Mike Wattam on a course that was showing the scars of the previous week’s heavy weather, but tended very well by the green keeping staff.

The annual 4 day Vets’ mixed stableford tournament already advertised on this site is played at Waikanae  on the week of the 15-19 November. (Wednesday is a rest day.) There are still some spaces left but entries must be in asap to avoid disappointment.
