COURSE REPORT SEPTEMBER 2011
WEATHER There has been 22mm of rain this month.
COMPLETED WORK
The 4th blue tee is completed and is now in use.
- On the 1st of September the annual ERMA inspection was done for Hazardous Substances, and we received a Hazardous Substances Location Certificate.
- The irrigation pump is now up and running after it was struck by lightning.
- The scarifyings left over from the greens were used to build up holes and low areas around the course.
- Three more pine trees were cut down on the 11th for firewood.
- The Sports Turf Institute came and inspected the Course, taking an organic matter test from four of the greens, and will provide an analysis report soon.
- Horowhenua Shelter Trimmers have been to trim the car park hedge, the 18th hedge and the 16th pine trees,
- The new sprinklers the Club purchased were installed on the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 18th greens. This now completes installation on all greens, Thanks to all involved to make this happen.
COURSE GROOM
Fairways were cut fortnightly.
- Tees were cut Thursdays and tee pads were cut around.
- Surrounds were cut weekly with the fairway mower.
- Rough was cut twice this month.
- The bunkers were raked every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- The greens were cut every day apart from Saturdays.
- Hazard lines have been cut and sprayed this month.
- New holes on greens were cut Tuesdays and Fridays.
- Rubbish bins were emptied every Monday and Friday.
- Tee banks were fly mowed and weedeated around twice this month.
GREENS
The greens were scarified in two directions with 3mm blades at 50mm deep then seeded and sanded.
- They were fertilised with Organic Booster and Micro Green 10-1-13.
MACHINERY
The Toro Twister has been fixed it has new rings and pistons, a rebore, valve seats, valve grind, a new drive belt and bearings replaced in the steering-box.
- The Toro sander had an oil leak on one Hydro motor and was also fixed.
- The 3050 greens mower was fitted with LED lights as these draw less power.
- The clutch spring on one of the chainsaws was replaced.
NEXT MONTH AGENDA
Burn branches and trimmings in the dumpsite.
- Fell more trees for firewood by the 11th pond.
- Irrigation checks.
- Fix the break in the wiring on the 13th fairway.
- Spray Tee banks and paths.
- Fill potholes in paths.
- Replace the water pump on the 4320 John Deer Tractor.
